ALDINGHAM SUNBRICK LANE SD 27 SE Sunbrick 19/23 Low Sunbrick Farmhouse (formerly listed as Sunbrick 25.3.70 Farmhouse) G.V. II

Farmhouse. 1655 date, with initials I. & S.K. on re-used panel to rear of lean-to; 1678 date with initials I.K., S. & E (or F) K on lintel over front door. Later alterations. Pebble-dashed rubble. Graduated slate roofs with projecting eaves; stepped, corniced stone end chimneys. 'L'-shaped plan; front elevation 2 storeys with attics, 3 bays. Central C20 plank door in enlarged C17 doorcase with dated lintel and hoodmould; C20 casements (larger to left) to either side and above. 2 gabled dormer windows with sashes. Lean-to against left return. Rear retains two 2-light, double-chamfered, mullioned windows and a part-blocked mid C17 doorcase with embattled lintel, all under hoodmoulds with labels. Interior: Beamed ceilings to ground floor rooms, one at which has a moulded wooden cornice and the other a bracketed fire surround with corniced mantle. Corrugated iron garage adjoining rear wing not of interest.
