PENISTONE MANCHESTER ROAD (west side, off), Millhouse Former stable building immediately north-west of No 2 Bullhouse


Stable range. Probably early C18. Coursed, squared rubble. Stone slate roof. Two, possibly three storeys, four bays. Four entrances with massive quoined surrounds. Cart entry with segmental head (part-blocked). Three small windows, right one with added light on left. Three square windows to first floor and a smaller one at lower level on right. Two openings It blocked) at high level to right may indicate a third storey. Rear: door and window openings obscured by raised ground level. Ventilation slits. Left gable: door at intermediate level with light above. Right gable: entrance with quoined surround and two tiny chamfered lights. One two-light, double-chamfered window in gable apex.
