PENISTONE MANCHESTER ROAD SE20SW (west side, off), Millhouse 3/38 Former stable building immediately north-west of No 2 Bullhouse

GV II

Stable range. Probably early C18. Coursed, squared rubble. Stone slate roof. Two, possibly three storeys, four bays. Four entrances with massive quoined surrounds. Cart entry with segmental head (part-blocked). Three small windows, right one with added light on left. Three square windows to 1st floor and a smaller one at lower level on right. Two openings It blocked) at high level to right may indicate a 3rd storey. Rear: door and window openings obscured by raised ground level. Ventilatian slits. Left gable: door at intermediate level with light above. Right gable: entrance with quoined surround and 2 tiny chamfered lights. One 2-light, double-chamfered window in gable apex.
