8/45 Oddendale Hall (eastern house in 6.2.68 settlement) with adjoining byre
GV II
House, probably late C17 with early C18 additions (1677 date on lintel re-used in barn to north and 1726 date on threshing barn to south); C19 additions and alterations. Coursed, squared rubble with quoins; house pebble-dashed. Graduated slate roof. 2 storeys 5 bays overall. Present front C18 with C17 wing to rear; house extended to left (with wing to rear) and lower byre added to right in C19. Plank door in C19 gabled porch with side benches. 3-light window and fire window to right, sash to left, and two 3-light windows above; multi-light windows are square-leaded in chamfered surrounds with flat stone mullions. C19 bay has sash to ground floor and 2 casements above. Byre has plank door in shouldered surround with casement to each floor on left; steps up to plank loft door in return. Stone mid and end chimneys.
