Farmhouse. C1600 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill, cladding and rebuilding, roughcast to rear of hall range; concrete tile roof. Hall range apparently of 4 framed bays with 11-bay cross-wing projecting to right. 2 storeys. Framing: hall range has irregular small square panels, 4 from cill to wall- plate, with long and short straight tension braces, V-struts from collar to right gable end; cross-wing has close studding beneath girding beam with long straight tension braces, one square panel above and jowled wall-posts to gable. Late C19 fenestration to hall range and left side of cross-wing; one 3-light casement on each floor to hall range with small top-hung casement to left and one segemental-headed 3-light casement on ground-floor of cross-wing. C20 nail-studded door in angle between ranges. Late C20 casements to right gable end of hall range and right side of cross-wing including to prominent contempory gabled dormer in roof slope. Prominent axial rubblestone ridge stack in 2 sections directly above door to hall range and external rubblestone stack (with C20 red brick top) to gable of cross-wing. C19 rubblestone lean-to dairy with plain tile roof to rear on right of hall range. Interior: inspection not possible at time of resurvey (December 1985) but noted as having chamfered cross-beam ceiling to cross-wing; left ground-floor room of hall range has massive deep-chamfered cross-beam with heavy joists. C20 stone fireplaces to both hall range and cross- wing.
