MONK SOHAM LOW ROAD TM 26 SW 5/154 Service range immediately - north west of Woodcroft Hall GV II

Service range to Woodcroft Hall (qv. Item 5/153), now disused. C16 or early C17 with C19 alterations. Timber framed and plastered, the side wall to the east (facing the house) and the ground floor of the gable ends rebuilt in C19 colourwashed brick. Roof plaintiled to east and pantiled to west. 2 storeys. East side has 2 windows, 3-light casements under segmental arches; one upper window opening is slatted. Boarded door to right. Further slatted windows to north and west. C19 external stack at south gable end. Interior. Some original upper floor structure. In the west wall is a blocked diamond- mullioned first floor window. Coupled-rafter roof with sooting, possibly the result of a mid C20 fire; parts of the roof have been renewed. Interior not fully examined. Included for group value.
