Office. 1938. By WG Price. Limestone ashlar with a pantile hipped roof. Double-depth plan. Neo-Georgian style. 3 storeys and basement; 7-window range. A symmetrical front has a second-floor sill band and moulded eaves cornice. A large doorway with moulded architrave and pediment, overlight with Greek key decoration and a lantern, and 2-leaf 8-panel door. 6/6-pane sashes, 6/9-panes to the first floor; low basement windows. Pierced square ventilation panels above the ground floor. 4-window right-hand return, as the front. INTERIOR: boardroom with c1770 fireplace and doors from Kings Weston House (qv). An attempt to relate a C20 building to an early Georgian terrace. (Gomme A, Jenner M and Little B: Bristol, An Architectural History: Bristol: 1979-: 497).
