Church. C12 nave and chancel, restored mid C19, C13 tower.
Stone rubble with ashlar dressings. Plain-tile roofs with
ashlar-coped east gable, slate tower roof.
PLAN: chancel, nave with south porch, west tower.
EXTERIOR: chancel with C19 east window of 3 stepped lancets
and a quatrefoil within a circle. C12 round-headed lancets on
north and south walls. C19 diagonal ashlar buttresses with
offsets.
Nave: north wall with tall cusped lancet to left, 2 C12
round-headed lancets and north door with stepped stone lintel
to right. South wall with tall cusped lancet to right, C12
flat-headed slit window to centre. Doorway to left with round
arch of 2 orders with plain abaci, hoodmould, single shafts
with plain bases, large waterleaf capital to west, scalloped
capital to east. Old cross-boarded door. C19 stepped buttress
each end of wall.
South porch with tiled gabled roof with opening, and C14
arch-braced truss with jowled post, cambered tie beam, and
framed arcade set on high stone plinth.
Tower: tall round-headed lancet to west. Shingled upper stage
with louvred bell-opening on each face, with pyramid slate
roof.
INTERIOR: chancel with C19 2-bay single-purlin roof with 2
arched hammerbeam trusses. Large high square-headed chancel
opening.
Nave: 3-bay twin trenched-purlin roof with chamfered purlins,
old rafters and later applied windbraces. Rafters inset with
old panels.
4 twin raking-strut trusses with cambered tie beams
incorporating arched brace and wall posts on corbels. Double
chamfered soffit to tie beam. Pointed tower arch with 2 orders
on single-chamfered imposts. C16 2-tiered pulpit with carved
square ornamental panels.
