2 houses, now single house. C17. Timber-framed, with partly
painted brick infill panels and partly render on lath infill
panels, stone rubble rear and side walls. Plain-tile roof.
Projecting stepped stone stack with tiled offsets and detached
stone shaft with upper shafts missing. 2-framed bay range,
with gable additions at front and back, and 2-bay cross wing.
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic. Front 2-bay range with
gable over to right, cross-wing gable to left, large stone
stack to extreme left. Square framing with large lower panels
much underbuilt with brick and stone. Small rectangular upper
panels covered by continuous tiled pentice roof on brackets.
Gable trusses with 4 vertical struts, collar with raking
struts over. 4-light ovolo-moulded mullion window framed into
square framing. 2 simple mullion windows set in brick
underbuilding, 2 plain C19 boarded doors. Casement window
opening inset into main range gable framing, and 3-light
casement to left gable. Windows had lattice-leaded lights now
in various states of destruction. Right return: rebuilt stone
rubble gable end with 2 ground-floor and single attic window
opening. Left return covered by stone stack. Rear: stone
rubble ground floor with doorway and window openings. To left
is gable projecting from main range with twin vertical struts
and collar. To right is cross wing gable of twin vertical
struts with raking struts over collar. Window opening framed
between struts.
INTERIOR: main range with internal truss partition with square
framing, chamfered bridging beams with ogee stops, 4-centred
arched door head at ground floor. Internal trusses of 4
vertical struts below a collar, and one with door posts
interrupting tie beam. Single trenched-purlin roof. Cross wing
with chamfered bridging beam with simple stops. Internal truss
of 4 struts. Double trenched-purlin roof.
