Medmenham Abbey, Medmenham, Buckinghamshire

Looking across the River Thames towards the house on the site of a 13th-century Cistercian abbey. After the Dissolution a house was built on the site for Sir Francis Duffield. The house is partly 16th-century, partly 18th-century Gothic and largely of 1898, especially the white chalk arcade etc. by W H Romaine-Walker.
