The Bartholomew School, Eynsham, Oxfordshire

This market hall and schoolroom were built in c1700. They were built under the terms of a will of John Bartholomew (died 1700). He gave £350 to buy land worth £15 a year. Of this £10 was to be paid to a schoolmaster to teach and provide writing materials for 10 poor Eynsham boys. The remaining £5 was to start an apprenticeship fund.
