Torksey Castle, Trent Side, Torksey, Lincolnshire

The so-called Torksey Castle was in fact an unfortified domestic mansion, known formerly as Torksey House or Torksey Hall. It was built in 1560 by Sir Robert Jermyn. It was then slighted (deliberately damaged) during the Civil War (1642-51)
