Woodcroft Castle, Etton, Peterborough

Woodcroft Castle incorporates the remains of a 13th century fortified manor house. It was built on a moated site. It has been much altered since then and is now a farmhouse. It is recorded that in 1649 the Rev Dr Michael Hudson, Chaplain to Charles I took part in the defence of the castle against Parliamentary troops during the Civil War.
