Rookhow is a 300 year old Grade II* listed Quaker Meeting House built to gather the 'scattered communities of the Society of Friends' in 1725. It continues to be a place of Quaker worship with Quaker Meetings on the 1st Wednesday of every month 7.30-8pm and on the 1st and 3rd Friday 12.30-1pm. Open Days are held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays 10am-4pm with volunteer guides to share about Rookhow's history and current work. The converted stables Bunkbarn is a member of the Independent Hostels UK and provides holiday and residential accommodation for groups and families. Rookhow's Retreat Away Fund subsidises community groups to stay at Rookhow who would otherwise not be able to afford a break away. Quakers' Wood, 12 acres of ancient oak woodland is open for the public to enjoy on Open Days.
