Description

In 1833 the Old Fulling Mill became the first Durham University Museum and housed museum collections until the 1870s. From 1956 the former mill housed the University's Department of Archeology before becoming a museum again in the 1970s, this time focused solely on archaeology. The museum moved to Palace Green in July 2014.
