Description
The series contains an estimated 102,033 photographs. They are mainly oblique aerial black and white colour prints produced in the 1970s from original negatives as a reference set or as a spare set in the event of loss of the negatives.
The largest groups of prints are copies of Aerofilms negative numbers A1-A99300 and 14801-27258 and AeroPictorial negative numbers R8000-R30366. There are also some vertical black and white prints from Huntings negatives in the 1940s and 1950s and some vertical colour prints produced by Aerofilms in the 1990s. Photocopies of vertical prints are also present. Additionally there are black and white and colour photographs of company staff and assets, and staff parties and events.
None of the sequences are complete and there are many gaps that probably reflect the gaps in the negative collection. There are also duplicate copies of many prints. These factors should be considered with regard to the estimated total which was derived at from the negative numbers alone.
