Description

A file containing twenty photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on Brixton Road in London. Known as Woolworths store number 7, this was the seventh branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1910. It was the first Woolworths store to open in London. The Brixton store opened on the corner of Atlantic Road and Brixton Road. Twenty-five years later the store moved to new premises further down the road.
