Description

Album of black and white prints labelled 'Aerodromes: Buildings, Hangars and Accommodation', showing unidentified RAF buildings constructed during the Second World War including interior view of parachute store and exterior views of fabric stores and station headquarters. Also included are images of airplanes on runway and aerial oblique and vertical photographs taken by Aero Pictorial Ltd of various RAF bases including Carnaby, Isle Abbotts (1941-1942), Chedburgh (1943) and Holmsley South, and images of excavation and construction of airfield at East Kirkby (1942) and geological survey of ground at Kirton in Lindsey.

This album and some of the images it contains was catalogued in 2013 as part of a pilot project funded by the John Laing Charitable Trust.
