Description

Wood Green Shopping City, later renamed The Mall Wood Green, is a large shopping centre and housing complex. The site has a unique design, with the A105 (High Road) running through its centre, and a housing complex known as 'Sky City' built on top of the shop units. Laing's London Region were responsible for the construction of various sections of the site in the 1970s to early 1980s. The most notable of these contracts was the Phase II contract, which included the main shopping centre to the west of the A105.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
