Torbay Cinema, Torbay Road, Paignton - Torbay (UA)

Cinema first licensed in 1912 and frequented by Agatha Christie. An extremely well preserved example of an early purpose-built cinema. The building closed in 1999 and Historic England helped with the transfer of ownership of the building to a new Trust. Coastal Revival funds were secured in 2016 for work which allowed the building to be accessible for public visits. Historic England has offered a grant in 2019 to investigate emergency work that will be needed to the two-storey bay window. Further feasibility work is also being undertaken by the Trust to look at future uses within the building.
