Church of St Stephen, Moira Road, Woodville - South Derbyshire
Parish church of 1846 by Stevens in the New Norman style. Ashlar with ashlar dressings, slate roofs, single tower to the south west. Apsidal end to the chancel whilst the west end has a full height gable where architectural detailing is afforded greatest expression. Large areas of stonework are in a dangerous condition and require urgent action. This is attributed to poor quality stone, exacerbated by an amount of face bedding. Past repairs, cementitious patching and pointing has compounded the decay and is now itself failing and falling away. Rainwater disposal is of concern.
