Codnor Castle remains, Castle Lane, Aldercar and Langley Mill - Amber Valley
Castle ruins and earthworks dating to the early C13 and later. Formerly affected by open-cast coal mining. A major repair programme was completed in 2008. Until recently the Codnor Castle Heritage Trust was carrying out maintenance at the site and running public events with the owner's permission. The Lower Court east wall is in danger of collapse and has been temporarily supported. The attached grade II house is vacant and at risk. It has suffered vandalism. The owner has planning permission for the repair and residential conversion of the house and barns.
