This review presents a synthetic account of molluscs from sites of Palaeolithic to Post-Medieval date in these three English regions. There are preliminary discussions of taxonomy, preservation, methodology and interpretation, and some priorities for future work are defined, In an Appendix, other invertebrate groups (other than insects) are considered briefly.
