Lewes Priory, Sussex: the post-Dissolution mansion and gardens of Lords Place

Author(s): Paul Everson

In April 1993 the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England undertook a brief archaeological investigation and Level 2 analytical survey of the site of the house and gardens of Lord's Place, occupying part of the former Cluniac Priory of Lewes. This English Heritage report built on that survey and considerable subsequent research to present a coherent argument for the post-Dissolution history of this area. (This report was originally numbered 7/2005 in the Archaeological Investigation Series.)
