The Almshouses, Burneston, North Yorkshire

These almshouses were built in 1680. They were established by Matthew Robinson, Vicar of Burneston and owner of Allerthorpe Hall. The rules of the almshouses stated that the almspeople should be 'poor persons of good character of either sex, who have resided in the parish for two years at least'.
