Description

The photograph was published in June 1955 in the Laing monthly newsletter Team Spirit. It shows the men discussing features of the old Norman wall uncovered whilst excavations were being carried out for the required formation level during the construction of the new cathedral. At this time, J B Shelton was the City Chamberlain for Coventry and as an archaeologist had been studying Coventry's history for 50 years.
