Description

In the negative register, this photograph is recorded as being part of a batch taken to show flooding on the route of the motorway. The man sat at the wheel of the Landrover is believed to be R Spencer, the project manager for section B of the motorway. Section B of the London to Yorkshire Motorway ran roughly between Ridgmont in Bedfordshire and Gayhurst near Newport Pagnell.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
