This photograph shows the bomb damage caused to buildings during the blitz in World War Two. The premises of M.K Simmons and the other buildings to the right have been demolished. People are going through the rubble of these buildings. The building on the corner on the left seems to have escaped undamaged. This building is 147 Cheapside and was the premises of William Battersby, it was a pawn brokers and jewellers shop.
