Danzey Green Windmill, Tanworth in Arden, Warwickshire

This post mill was constructed in 1830 for grinding cereals. This picture from 1938 shows the mill in a bad state of preservation and surrounded by vegetation that would have prevented the mill from rotating into the wind. The mill was demolished in 1969 and rebuilt at the Avoncroft Museum. Find out more about windmills and watermills in our Teachers' Kit - Mills.
