Friends' Meeting, Addingham, West Yorkshire

A Friends' Meeting House Dated 1689. It was built in the year of the Act of Toleration, and as such is an important and fairly complete survival of a Quaker Meeting House. NB: The Act of Toleration was an act of the English Parliament (24 May 1689) which granted freedom of worship to Nonconformists, i.e. Protestants who dissented from the Church of England such as Baptists, Congregationalists, Quakers and Methodists.
