Remains of St Leonard's Priory, Priory Road, Stamford, Lincolnshire

These are the remains of a Benedictine priory that was founded in c1082. It is thought to be on the site of an earlier monastery established here by St Wilfrid in 658 and destroyed by the Danes in the 9th century. Excavations have revealed the layout of the monastery.
