Royal Albert Bridge, Saltash, Cornwall

A crew of workers carrying out renewal work on the Royal Albert Bridge in July 1928, with a specially-engineered mobile adjustable hoist 'No. 1' in the background, used for lifting heavy iron girders and rails into place. The rail bridge was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and was completed in 1859.
