This chapel was built in 1926. It was built for a Mr and Mrs Behrand as a memorial to Lieut H W Sandham (a brother of Mrs Behrend). He died in 1919 from an illness contracted in Macedonia. It is famous for its series of mural paintings by Sir Stanley Spencer. They are based on his own RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) experiences and later war service in Macedonia. The pictures have scenes connected with life in army hospitals.
