Seacoaler's horse and cart, Black Beach, Lynemouth, Northumberland

Waste coal from British Coal's Lynemouth coal-production plant is washed onto Lynemouth beach under certain conditions. Seacoalers collect the coal brought ashore by tidal movements, some still using traditional methods such as the horse and cart shown in the picture.
