The Keep, Portchester Castle, Portchester, Hampshire

These are Elevations (front on drawings) showing the keep at Portchester Castle. They were drawn by the Office of Works in September 1926 to document the state of the castle keep at that time. This was because the Thistlethwaite family, who's ancestors had owned the castle since 1632, had just placed it in the care of the Office of Works (which later became English Heritage). This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2011). Find out more.
