Upper Street, Islington, Greater London

A busy street view. There ia a clear view of a horse drawn bus with what appears to be a motor bus behind. For a short period of time the 2 types of transport were both in use. There are middle class women shopping alone and in groups. This was something that only became acceptable at the end of the Victorian period. Before that women had to be accompanied by a man.
