Description

The Moor Lane sports ground has been the site of sporting events for over 320 years. Between 1847 and 1919 it was known as the Kersal Cricket Ground, and has been home to the Broughton Archers, Manchester Athletics Club, Manchester Football Club, Langworthy Juniors, Salford City Football Club, and Swinton Rugby League Club. The ground was renamed The Peninsula Stadium in around 2017. The grandstand dates from the 1930s. This photograph was published on page 128 of 'Played in Manchester' by Simon Inglis.
